Rihanna was busy showing off her piles of designer holiday gifts on Instagram all last week, but this morning, she had a little present for us: She unveiled her first-ever Balmain campaign for Spring 2014. The singer might have been dropping hints about this over the summer, when she posted a number of photos of herself at Balmain headquarters in Paris with Olivier Rousteing, the brand's creative director, on Instagram.

Shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin and styled by Mel Ottenberg, the images were captured last month in New York City, and will make their global debut in January 2014. This isn't Rihanna's first time as the face of a major fashion brand -- she's previously starred in campaigns for Emporio Armani and Gucci.

"Not compromising, fresh, modern, the icon of my generation, Rihanna embodies my vision of Balmain in this new campaign," Rousteing said in a press release. "In front of the camera, she makes you feel like she is the only girl in the world."

Oh Olivier, how we do love a clever song lyric tie-in. Especially when it's true, although we're pretty sure Rihanna has that effect on people even when she's not in front of a camera.
