A Cate Blanchett red carpet moment is like a snow leopard sighting -- so rare, beautiful and mystifying. But now that awards season is upon us, the Blue Jasmine actress is set to debut a series of daring and flawless fresh off-the-runway looks. And we're keeping track.

Looks like it's another win for Cate Blanchett, both professionally -- she took home Best Actress for Blue Jasmine at the 19th annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards on Thursday -- and sartorially, when she appeared on the red carpet in a Lanvin Pre-Fall 2014 dress.

The dark green color is not only shaping up to be the shade of 2014 (sorry, Pantone), but it looks stunning against Blanchett's pale skin -- flying in the face of all those fashion magazine advice-givers who insist that jewel tones look best against darker complexions. To keep from looking too washed out, Blanchett wisely threw on (well, rather, her makeup artist probably meticulously applied) a bright coral lipstick, which still looks fresh, even after seeing it in a million J.Crew catalogs.

While the gown was kept free-flowing in Lanvin's look book, Blanchett wisely belted it with a thick black number adorned with crystals to up the fancy factor -- plus, it smartly gives her some shape, fans of a Talitha Getty kaftan moment though we may be. Our favorite part? The frock has pockets, adding an ease to the look when she chose to pose with her hands tucked in.

Blanchett finished off the look with a metal-framed clutch, which added a nice edgy overtone to the overall lady vibe.
