A Cate Blanchett red carpet moment is like snow leopard sighting — so rare, beautiful and mystifying. But now that awards season is upon us, the Blue Jasmine actress is set to debut a series of daring and flawless fresh off-the-runway looks. And we’re keeping track.
On Thursday, Cate Blanchett showed up to a W magazine party, celebrating the “Best Performances Portfolio” and the Golden Globes, wearing an all-black Stella McCartney ensemble from the Spring 2014 collection. We love how she took a risk on a crop top, but tempered it with a layer underneath. And the shape of those pants is just spot-on — every-so-slouchy up top with a strong taper at the ankle. Blanchett’s Kara Ross necklace keeps things from getting boring, along with a pair of fabulous Roger Vivier booties that are so low-cut and pointy that they bear a striking resemblance to this season’s It shoe: the mule.
