This position will own all public and media relations efforts for TruStory Media and its premium properties (TheSpnd.com, TheInteriorProject.com, TheSpoiledLife.com). This is a leadership position requiring both collaboration with senior management to establish communications strategy, planning and execution of all initiatives.

Location: Santa Monica, California

Responsibilities: • Lead the development and creation of writing projects, including corporate press releases, editorial placements, white papers, and keynote presentations • Develop and cultivate direct relationships within key media outlets, including conducting outreach and managing inbound requests in order to secure accurate and positive media coverage • Establish key corporate messaging across lines of business and target audiences to elevate brand awareness and position company as a thought leader • Develop quarterly communications plan, including quantitative goals and success metrics • Organize events, prepare talking points, and manage media contact database • Create and maintain standard corporate press kit materials • Manage News portion of company website • Manage social media strategy

Requirements: • Minimum 2 years experience managing public and media relations, and social media channels in-house or agency. • BS in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field • Proven ability to establish strong media relationships within the consumer, business and/or technology categories • Proven ability to develop and execute successful communications strategies and plans • Proven ability to plan and execute events • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills • Demonstrated ability to contribute at both a strategic and an operational level • Ability to work with urgent deadlines, flexible priorities and manage multiple high-priority assignments • Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization • Results driven, energetic, resourceful and hands-on individual with a strong service orientation
