One of the U.S.'s most iconic department stores is finally getting a home in Canada.

Saks Fifth Avenue has just announced that it will open two stores in Toronto, the retailer's first in the country. The news comes just six months after Saks was acquired by Canadian holding company Hudson's Bay Company, which also owns Lord & Taylor among other department stores.

Hudson's Bay has chosen two locations it knows well for opening its first Saks stores. One store, in downtown Toronto, will occupy about 150,000 square feet and share a space with Hudson's Bay's flagship store. It is slated to open in the first half of 2015. The second store, also in Toronto, will be located in the Sherway Gardens Mall, which also hosts trendy retailers like Topshop, Aritzia and Club Monaco -- but, conveniently, is devoid of a high-end department store.
