For Fall 2013, Zara‘s ad campaign was our street style dream come to life. Not only did the Patrick Demarchelier-lensed images feature some of our favorite models — Julia Nobis, Caroline Brasch Nielsen — looking impossibly cool on the London streets thanks to the stylings of Marie-Amélie Sauvé, they were in clothes we could actually afford! Talk about inspirational.
The retailer just released its Spring 2014 ads, and while it was shot once again by Demarchelier, it’s giving us a flashback to Juergen Teller’s Fall 2011 ads for Céline, which featured the label’s pared-down looks in front of white walls and some greenery (see below). Despite how good the models look in the label’s minimalist, sporty spring looks, we’re not as head-over-heels for this campaign as we were for fall. Plus, they’re pushing those crop tops hard, which isn’t practical for most real-life situations [ed note: select members of the Fashionista staff disagree with this anti-crop top sentiment].
