Who will be first to land a U.S. Vogue cover: Kim Kardashian or Kendall Jenner?
That was the question on everyone's mind when Jenner made an unexpected splash during both New York and London Fashion Weeks, both on the runway and off, like when Vogue spent a whole day styling her in fall 2014 looks and posting photos of her to its Instagram.
It was more attention than Kim Kardashian, who has allegedly -- with help from fiancé Kanye West -- been on a campaign to get into Vogue, had ever garnered from the fashion bible -- though she has made progress since the cropping incident.
And of course, since Vogue is obviously reserving just one future cover for a member of the Kardashian family, we have to speculate on who is closer to receiving that honor: Kim or Kendall? In fact, we can do more than just speculate: British online betting platform Paddy Power, the same site that once hosted bets on who would design Kate Middleton's wedding dress (and also hosts bets on normal things like sports and horse racing), is allowing people to put money on it.
So far, despite the fact that British editor Katie Grand has been championing young model Jenner, the odds are in Kardashian's favor. Her odds are at 1/2, while Jenner's are at 6/4.
Of course, it could be years before we reach the result, and it's very possible that neither Kim nor Kendall will ever get a U.S. Vogue cover -- in fact, that may be what I'd put my money on. The magazine seems loathe to put a model on its cover these days unless it's Kate Moss -- and reality TV stars have been similarly ignored. It seems unlikely that either of them will be the exception to these rules, but who knows? Crazier things have happened.
