It's been a great couple of years for women in music, with female solo artists and all-girl bands topping the charts and taking over festival lineups. For its spring issue, V magazine -- which is a huge proponent of pairing music and fashion -- features today's finest female talent on four unique covers, shot by Inez and Vinoodh and styled by Carlyne Cerf De Dudzeele. The issue, which hits newsstands on Feb. 27, stars recent Grammy winner Lorde, California-based sister trio Haim, twin sister pop duo Say Lou Lou and soulful singer-songwriter Banks.

The artists all wear classic pieces by the likes of Chanel, Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren on their respective covers, but in our opinion, the hair far outshines the fashion. We've chatted with Haim about their signature long locks in the past, and Lorde's curly 'fro is delightfully retro, don't you think? The issue also includes pieces on Britney Spears, Robyn, world-class DJ Paris Hilton and Givenchy muse Erykah Badu, so we're really looking forward to digging into this one.
