Marios Schwab's fall collection, shown on Sunday, was created for a woman who "moves to her own rhythm," according to the show notes. And that rhythm was a sensual strut to smokey jazz -- pink panther-style -- and bathed in candlelight.
Leather pants, sheer chiffon shirts and pointy kitten heeled mules set a sexy, vampish tone. Polo necks paired with leather miniskirts lent a beatnik air, segueing into floaty silk-chiffon sheer gowns. Gothic chokers were present in nearly every look, some with swinging pocket watches or rosary beads hanging down the front.
The midnight blue satin bomber with sparkling constellations peppered along the sleeves is sure to have a long waiting list, as will Schwab's signature beautiful capes.
Androgynous details, such as the boxy bombers and minimal makeup, kept the sex appeal from going overboard, and resulted in a seriously cool collection. Perfect clothes for the girl who everyone secretly wants to be.
