Despite the lingering moniker as a "celebrity" designer, Victoria Beckham has seen huge success in her career as a businesswoman. From stars wearing her classic pieces on the red carpet to her British Fashion Award win to the imminent expansion of her brand to New York, Beckham certainly seems like a natural -- but she claims that's not exactly the case.

In her March cover story for Allure magazine, Beckham opens up about her journey from pop star to designer, and apparently the road wasn't always an easy one. "I think what gave me confidence in myself was meeting the other girls," she tells the magazine, referring to her former Spice Girls bandmates. "We always said we were all like rejects in our own way. We had to work hard, and they helped me accept me for who I was."

The hard work didn't stop once the Spice Girls disbanded, and while Beckham embarked on a career as a designer shortly thereafter, it was admittedly a challenge. "I was never a natural," Beckham says. "I got there in the end because I did believe that if you work hard enough, then you can achieve a lot."

Take it from the Spice Girls: If you work hard enough, you, too, can achieve your dreams. You can read the full story in the March issue of Allure, which hits newsstands on Feb. 25.
