Dhani's Not-Quite-Mom Jeans

While I had my first moment with mom jeans last April (I'm so ahead of the curve), I gradually lost interest in the thin, pale blue, tapered versions I had picked up at Topshop. My interest in mom jeans was piqued again when Nora found her American Apparels -- suddenly I was desperate for something in a thicker, more substantial fabric and cropped length.

While American Apparel's mom jean didn't quite work for me, I found something at Topshop I liked even better: the "Girlfriend" jean. The waist, while high, isn't quite as extreme as some mom jeans and the leg isn't as narrow. The cropped length works well with both simple sneakers (like Keds or Supergas) and heels. And the medium blue color feels so chic and timeless.

Moto Girlfriend Jeans, $70, available at Topshop
