Having recently nabbed Bobbi Brown to head up its beauty section, Yahoo News has reportedly recruited another fashion heavyweight to its team: Elle Creative Director Joe Zee. Although Zee is said to have been in talks with Yahoo for quite some time now, WWD reported Friday that it's a done deal.

A representative from Yahoo did not immediately respond to request for comment. According to WWD, a spokeswoman for Elle declined to "speculate on employee matters."

Earlier this month, reports surfaced that Yahoo Shine, the tech giant's women-focused site, would be getting the ax in favor of a glossier fashion hub. With seven years of experience at Elle under his belt, Zee would give Yahoo a lot more fashion cred, which it could certainly use, considering how clunky the Shine site is. Zee is also a big name even outside of industry circles, having hosted two television shows on the Sundance Channel. And like Bobbi Brown, he's friendly and accessible, which not all fashion editors are.

If Zee is in fact the latest steal in Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer's recruiting spree, we're excited to see what he does with the section, and if Yahoo could truly come to compete in the big leagues of fashion sites.
