The worlds of fashion and art collide all the time — most recently in the form of artist/designer collaborations — and Fendi's offering for resort 2015 is a great example of the magic that can happen when the two meet.
Inspired by ethnic costumes and urban graffiti, the collection is a feast for the eyes, including the unexpected mixing of prints (polka dots, checks, geometric shapes, stripes and florals all pop up in a handful of pieces), saturated colors and even some literal tagging: The handwritten "Fendi Roma" motif that appears in a number of looks is adapted from a logo that Karl Lagerfeld designed in 1988. The textures are rich as well, and with details that include mesh inlays, ladylike pleats and fur collars, it's a dream for anyone who loves to mix and match.
While most of the collection is on the sporty side — there are track pants, bra-like tops and activewear-inspired separates — there's plenty for the more feminine customer to choose from as well, including floral gowns and a particularly sweet pleated dress with a Peter Pan collar.
