Because all I really wanted was some 90's nostalgia, yo.

When I was 10, I convinced my mom to let me buy my first pair of "heels". Straight out of the mid-90's, they were black and strappy with a thick 3-inch block heel. I loved them and I wore them to death. What seemed like stilts would later be dwarfed by my addiction to platformed 5 and 6-inchers, but what I didn't realize then was that I would seek a version of these bad boys out again in my adult life (with little success).

That was until I found these stunners by See by Chloé on Solestruck. The soul-sister to my first pair, the addition of the metal plating and the (slightly) thinner ankle straps gave them a modern update that made me salivate all over again.

They met my laundry list of requirements: block heel, not too high; edgy hardware (no bows); ankle straps. They were strangely both "office-appropriate" but also cool, and comfortable enough to wear to a summer concert and stand all night.

Upon order, they run a whole size small and narrow in the heel which was a bit odd (I had mine stretched a little). So, if you want to nab these, size up. The metal-plating is also malleable (do this carefully) in case they don't fit the exact curve of your foot.
