It's not every day a person as stunning and non-fictional as Victoria's Secret Angel Adriana Lima gets compared to a spooky ghost from a 19th century Charles Dickens novel -- but then, today isn't most days. Because yep -- I'm GOING THERE.

Lima appears on the cover of June's Vogue Italia in a sporty look by Gucci and a headpiece designed by former "Sex and the City" stylist Patricia Field. She's quite possibly wearing tube socks as arm warmers (and leather gloves borrowed from Karl Lagerfeld), but I want to talk more about this "headpiece."

From what I can tell, it's basically an embroidered beanie that's been strapped to poor little Lima Bean's perfect head with some sort of fabric strip or handkerchief -- not so unlike the one worn by the ghost of Jacob Marley in A Christmas Carol (see photo above), amiright???

Marley's interesting chin accessory is never explicitly explained in the holiday classic (we're led to believe that Scrooge's business partner died of some sort of head ailment or injury) -- but for the sake of all that is chic, we're really hoping this Vogue Italia cover isn't a sign of fashion trends yet to come.*

Watch a behind the scenes vid of Lima, shot by Steven Meisel and styled by Carlyn Cerf de Duzeele, below.
