When it comes to the fall 2014 ads, Gisele Bündchen is everywhere we turn: So far, she's racked up campaigns for Pucci, Isabel Marant, Chanel No. 5 and Stuart Weitzman, and now, thanks to her pal Alexander Wang (she has done a runway exclusive or two for him in the past) she's the newest face of Balenciaga. Not only that, but she's totally switched up her beauty look, and is pictured with a super short crop. And it's awesome.
The first image from the campaign was just revealed in WWD, and her slicked-back, shorn hair is a great complement to the patent knee-high boots and high-necked jacket she models in the ad. “This is how I see Gisele for Balenciaga; strong, powerful, mysterious and uncompromising,” Wang told WWD about the campaign, which was shot by Steven Klein.
Last season, Daria Werbowy made a similar beauty transformation for Balenciaga, posing for Klein with white hair and a deep berry lip. But, considering that Bundchen is the current face of Pantene hair care — and is known throughout the world for her impossibly bouncy, shiny locks — this is quite the statement. Rack this up as another winning campaign for Wang.
