If you haven't been following all of the rowdy World Cup action from this past weekend, you're not alone: 24-hour soccer programming isn't for everyone — although Pitbull wearing tight white man capris probably is. (You should check that hilarity out if you missed it during the opening ceremony.)
But, there's an aspect of the upcoming festivities with an unexpected fashion slant: Gisele Bündchen has been chosen to present the winning team of the 2014 World Cup with the FIFA World Cup Trophy. Bündchen, who is basically the poster child for Brazilian supermodels, will do the honors at the closing ceremony at the Maracana Mário Filho Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, slated to take place July 13.
According to the Telegraph, the model is stepping in for Brazil's President Dilma Rousseff, who's facing scrutiny on account of the huge amount of money the country has spent to put on the games, when so many of its citizens are living in poverty.
In addition, WWD is reporting that the trophy will have one chic accessory: A customized trunk designed by the team at Louis Vuitton and commissioned by FIFA. Whether you're a fan of football or not, this sounds like something that's definitely worth tuning in for.
