After buying back its businesses in Southeast Asia from Globallux last February, Kate Spade is again proving how serious it is about global expansion. The New York-based label has hired Roy Chan as its first senior vice president of international, a new position that spans strategy for Kate Spade New York, Kate Spade Saturday and Jack Spade.

Chan is bringing lots of global experience to the table. In addition to previously being CEO at Band of Outsiders, he's also the former president of international at Jones Group and headed up international business development for Ralph Lauren.

All of which is great -- because Kate Spade seems set on world domination: CEO Craig Leavitt noted in a statement that the long term goal is to have international account for two-thirds of the brand's business. Looks like Chan has his work cut out for him.
