There are certain fashion friendships that stand the test of time, not only because the parties involved are true BFFs, but because the designer-celebrity pairing yields some pretty spectacular sartorial results. Kate Bosworth and Olivier Theyskens, Marc Jacobs and Sofia Coppola and the Mulleavy sisters and Kirsten Dunst are some particularly heartwarming examples of the designer/muse relationship.
One of said friendships is between Liv Tyler and Stella McCartney, who have supported each other both on and off the red carpet over the years. For the premiere of her new HBO series "The Leftovers," Tyler wore a black and navy dress from McCartney's pre-fall 2014 collection, which features a sheer mesh panel, hidden behind a fringe overlay. Yes, it's simple, but Tyler's sapphire earrings, smoky eyes and natural hair keep the actress looking as cool as ever.
It's yet another instance of Tyler stepping out looking stunning — while making her designer pal look pretty good, too. Isn't that what friends are for?
