Looking for an art director who is an innovative entrepreneurial leader & can help oversee a designer and in-house studio resources (photographer, retoucher & studio manager).
The position will be very hands on, independent and will suit someone looking to have some creative freedom within the realms of a well-known millennial fashion brand. The candidate must have eCommerce & mobile experience, which includes a deep an understanding of the latest design/UX trends, user experience best practices, a keen attention to detail and a fashion and editorial sensibility.
All candidates must be proactive and possess the ability to handle last-minute creative/business requests, work under tight deadlines, and manage competing priorities.
They will be responsible for the execution of high quality omni channel campaigns with a strong emphasis on the digital (especially with a pending relaunch of the website & of course daily email, website, blog, affiliate etc.) and mobile content.
Excellent communication and writing skills are important to the role as such skills will add to the overall quality of work. This role reports to the Editorial Director who reports into the SVP of ecommerce & Digital Marketing.
Description of key job functions:
o Personally develops the creative for omni channel programs or leads the creative development process via freelance/agency oversight
o Co-leads the development of digital style guidelines and visual standards.
o Understands brand DNA and conveys this appropriately via ecommerce, mobile, in-store and basic packaging (bags, hand out cards etc.)
o Leverages UX & consumer behavior experience to create positive, simple consumer journeys that result in engagement and sales.
o Provides limited global council (esp. to our Asia markets)
Key duties and responsibilities: Other responsibilities may be assigned.
•Create omni channel concepts from inception to execution with a particular editorial aesthetic and user experience (aka millennial) in mind.
•Develop and/or manage the in-house or external resources (freelancers/agency) responsible for producing creative assets (emails, banners, landing pages, facebook widgets, mobile concepts etc.) for omni-channel marketing programs
•Ensure continuity in visual messaging across all teams, contributors and channels (e.g. our .com site, social media sites, retailer.com sites and our retail stores)
•Co- presents with the editorial director pre-pro documents for all shoots in order to ensure that the strategy and execution are on-brand
•Develops & accountable for timelines and budgets associated with programs.
•Drives out-of-the-box creative ideas being implemented & continuously shares best practices.
•Develops or refines the design process to reflect technical requirements of delivery platforms.
•Deliver scaleable creative solutions that drive results.
· At least 5-8+ years of graphic design & production experience (agency or brand side…optimally a mix) within the digital space
· Experience with database-driven digital programs (fashion brands a plus).
· Experience with working with a global firm and taking ideas and translating them into local markets
· Ability to multi-task
· Must have strong interpersonal skills and is able to work with a range of disciplines (marketing, creative, production etc.).
·Bachelor or Master degree, preferably in Graphic Design.
·Solid understanding of web/mobile standards, responsive design, UX, email, digital ad campaigns & social networks.
·Ability to create and execute banner animations, micro-sites from start to finish.
·Working experience with video component conversion and online production.
· Computer skills: Creative Suite 3 (Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver), and After Effects.
· Optimally, some knowledge of what goes into programming, so XML
· Excellent eye for UI, typography, layout, color & editorial sensibility
· Excellent communication skills
· Strong project management, organizational & planning skills
· Digital thought leader & active in the social media space
