I’ve never had the privilege of visiting one of the pristine beaches Down Under — though spending a day at the Bondi Beach icebergs in Sydney is at the very top of my bucket list — but thanks to Zimmermann’s resort 2015 collection, I know what I’ll wear if I ever get the chance to go.

“The collection came from a memory of mine — going on amazing holidays as a young person to Bali, and the way the women there wore white, embroidered lace blouses with sarongs,” designer Nicky Zimmermann said of the season’s intricate offering. “They’d contrast the beautiful prints with the clean white fabric — that’s something I wanted to translate into our resort collection.”

With its relaxed vibe and highly polished fabrics, the "Light Riot" collection is truly a tropical holiday come to life. There are airy, white cotton blouses and bottoms that were made for a high summer day at the beach, as well as flowy silk dresses in batik-based prints with subtle cutouts that are sexy, but not overtly so.

The textures were particularly impressive. Zimmermann created lattice-like inserts that make the garments appear to be floating off the body. One voluminous, white cutout dress in particular (which Zimmermann says is one of her favorites, see right) would be perfect for a bride-to-be planning a beachfront wedding. Best of all, there's no need to fret about them showing too much skin as each piece comes with a matching underpinning so you won't be condemned to the nude beach.

So, if you have a fantastic tropical trip in your future — or just want to dress like you do — this is the collection you've been dreaming of.
