While most major fashion houses seemed to hedge their bets on supermodels when it came to their fall ad campaigns — Gisele Bündchen, Daria Werbowy and Cara Delevingne are everywhere we turn — Italian luxury brand Max Mara turned to a very chic celebrity when it came to casting its fall campaign.
Amy Adams, the 39-year-old actress who's become known for her standout red carpet style over the last few years, will star in Max Mara's fall 2014 ads, which were first unveiled in WWD on Tuesday. Shot by Mario Sorrenti, Adams poses with some the label's key accessories, namely leather handbags that Max Mara creates in-house (see right) and new styles of sunglasses.
According to WWD, Max Mara's accessories categories have grown rapidly over the last four seasons -- sales of bags and shoes have increased by 33 percent. The brand believes that aligning itself with a celebrity and expanding the regions in which it advertises will only increase those figures further.
This isn't Adams's first time starring in a fashion campaign: The red-haired beauty was featured in the fall 2012 Boy by Band of Outsiders polaroid campaign, and she scored a fall 2013 fragrance ad for Lacoste.
