For seven summers running, champagne purveyor Veuve Clicquot has hosted a polo classic in New York. It brings out the most stylish young things, usually wearing their finest hats and fascinators (remember when Rodger Bearman and baby Skye showed up in matching toppers?).
So it's curious that the same event in the UK took a seemingly more casual turn. Gone were the sophisticated headdresses and in their stead was just good old-fashioned Brit-cool dressing, with plenty of prints. We're particularly fond of Alexa Chung's floaty number paired with a straw bag. One trend that did carry over? Crisp and clean summery whites.
The turnout in the VIP section was smaller, too -- but then, maybe the Brits just save their enthusiasm for a special occasion?
