Andre Leon Talley's gig artistic director of Zappos Couture is over after less than a year.
The iconic fashion editor's contract is up on Thursday, and will not be renewed, according to WWD.
Talley joined the e-commerce site a few months after leaving his editor at large position at Vogue. He was tasked with elevating the site's image with information about trends and interviews with people from his expansive network of designers and fashion personalities, which he posted on his blog, ZeeCee by ALT. His most recent post, for instance, detailed the Kardashian-West clan's experience at Paris Fashion Week.
Marc Beckman, Talley's former rep at DMA, who brokered the deal with Zappos, said he could not comment on the parting of ways, but that he is still working with Zappos, which is "evolving for the better" and has "exciting things on the horizon." A rep for Zappos Couture did not immediately respond to our request for comment.
Talley's other post-Vogue gig as editor at large of Numero Russia was equally short-lived. Talley tells WWD that he has several "new and exciting opportunities" on the table -- perhaps one of those will stick a little longer.
