Though she flies somewhat under the radar, Jena Malone is one of our favorite red carpet risk-takers. She always manages to incorporate a unique, tough edge into otherwise traditional or feminine looks.
Case in point: The outfit she (or her stylist) chose for the New York premiere of "St. Vincent" Tuesday night. Valentino dresses are basically synonymous with sweet, retro femininity, but this is not so when it's paired with red patent leather boots by Tamara Mellon, a red Edie Parker clutch and Malone's crimson hair. She puts the lacy, embroidered mini dress in a whole new context.
It's a strong look, and there's a lot of red happening, but we think Malone totally pulls it off.
