This weekend, Rosamund Pike — the British actress who got her start as a Bond girl — will make her highly-anticipated debut as Amy Dunne in "Gone Girl," a role that will likely catapult her further into the spotlight as a major movie star. Until now, at least in the U.S., she's sort of been that pretty blonde that looks a little familiar.

In addition, she's always dressed really well on the red carpet — something we've noticed for years without really knowing what movies she's been in. Pike's standout style, which the pregnant actress has maintained as her baby bump has grown, has begun to draw more attention recently, making her a go-to for fashion magazine covers — she covered Vogue UK and Glamour U.S. in October and W in May, to name a few — and best dressed lists

So, before "Gone Girl" hits theaters and we all start to see her as the #dark, terrifying (or reasonable?) psychopath her character is, we decided to take a look back at her best red carpet moments over the years. She wavers between a minimalist, Hitchcock heroine aesthetic and a cool British girl who wears Christopher Kane and Erdem, a duality that perhaps helped her relate to her "Gone Girl" character? Read on for our picks.
