A tiny tube of mighty lotion.

Once the winter hits, if I don't moisturize every molecule of my skin daily, it becomes so dry that it will just flake off into grossness. The area around my eyelids and under-eyes is the first to get dry, not only because it is generally sensitive skin, but also because the acne medications I take make them lose even more moisture (so says my dermatologist). After trying several eye creams that just stung as soon as I put them on, my mama sent me a tube of Clarins Eye Contour Balm. As I pat it on — with my ring fingers, of course — the calming effect is instant. It reduces puffiness overnight and in the morning, if I'm low on sleep, it perks up sallow eyes.

It's kind of expensive for the size of the tube, but it actually lasts me months because you don't need a lot of the product to get the job done. I highly recommend trying it — the windows to your face will thank you.

Clarins' Eye Contour Balm, $36, available at Sephora.
