Most women I know are looking for the same combination in a foundation: something that provides solid, even coverage and feels as lightweight and undetectable as a moisturizer. Seems impossible by description, doesn't it?
Until last week, the closest thing I'd found to that magical combination was Armani's very popular "Luminous Silk" foundation. When I went to pick up a refill at Neiman Marcus, a saleswoman persuaded me to try Kevyn Aucoin's "Sensual Skin Fluid" foundation in no. 2, which she applied side by side with my go-to shade of Armani. Under multiple lights, it was impossible to tell the difference -- they both provided good, even coverage, negating the need for any concealer -- but Kevyn Aucoin's version felt even lighter than Armani's. Several days later, I'm still surprised at how undetectable it is -- the only way that I can tell I'm not just wearing moisturizer is by touching my face; the foundation has a soft velvety finish that's different from, and perhaps preferable to, my moisturizer's. In the realm of makeup, it's pretty magical.
