After six months of radio (er, wireless internet?) silence, Rihanna is BACK on Instagram — and just in time for Halloween. Because with all the on-point fashion costumes this past weekend, why miss out on the fun?

Bad Gal Ri Ri was a sexy Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle (Raphael?), alongside BFF Melissa Forde and a few others. Here's Forde's full-length shot of the ladies and, of course, while dressed as a crime fighting tortoise, Rihanna was wearing designer gladiator boots:

If you recall — Rihanna quit Instagram in May when the photo sharing service "mistakenly" shutdown her account after she posted a few topless pics of herself from a sexy photo shoot for French mag Lui. Fed up, the singer went on hiatus, but couldn't stay away for long, announcing her return on Saturday night via a couple hashtags — #RIHunited and#badgalback — on her still active Twitter and linking to this:

Even Instagram (the company) rejoiced over her return, welcoming her back via a conciliatory tweet, which of course, Ri Ri retweeted:

Of course, Rihanna's return to Instagram might be more strategic than just sharing some fun party shots of her awesome Halloween costume. Her social media comeback also coincides with two big announcements for the singer. First, she's launching a new women's fragrance, Rogue Love, which will join her already released scents: Rogue Man and just Rogue.

Plus, Elle announced on Monday morning that Rihanna is the magazine's December cover star. And let's just say that Ri Ri is 'gramming up a storm with shots from the story.

Whatever the reason, we're just happy she's back; after all, even the venerable Tom Ford has said that Rihanna's Instagram activity is even more influential than critical reviews. So how happy are we? Here are five reasons why, illustrated with past highlight's from the pop star's long dormant Instagram:

Because we get a sneak peek into her life at home. For instance: her come-what-may attitude about wearing a white suit while plating tomatoes for her New Year's Eve house party feast. That actually might be the riskiest thing we've seen all year.

Vacation photos! Isn't that what social media is for? (This is what it's like to go skiing with Rihanna.)

BTS shots of her fabulous appearances at Paris Fashion Week. We missed her on our Insta feed during the spring 2015 shows.

She's not afraid to have a zero-vanity moment.

And fun sketches like this one. We're glad your back, Rihanna. Can't wait to see what the next controversy is.
