Supermodel Stephanie Seymour, among all the other things she's famous for, is known for having a pretty enviable collection of couture garments that she's been collecting since the '90s. (Being a muse to Azzedine Alaïa has also been helpful for building a truly one-of-a kind collection.) She has so much couture, as a matter of fact, that she had to build a separate, special closet for it all.

Recently, she opened this amazing room up to Estée Lauder's cameras for a feature that will run on the brand's new website, The Estée Edit. (Seymour is a newly-anointed face of the brand.) Estée Lauder shared some of the images of this inner clothing sanctum with us and gave us the chance to chat with Seymour about her enviable closet and, well, life.

What's the fashion piece you value the most and why?

The wedding dress that Azzedine [Alaïa] made for me. It is a work of art and I got to watch the whole dress being made by hand. It’s a lot about the craftsmanship, the hand stitching. But honestly, if you find a designer that fits you well, ready-to-wear can feel like it’s made just for you. For me, Azzedine Alaïa’s ready-to-wear is like couture on me: I know my size. I never have to alter anything, it’s almost like it was made with my measurements. I believe you have to figure out what works for your body, what cuts look nice on you and stick to that. It’s important to have your signature look as a woman.

You own a lot of Birkins. What is it about Birkins that make women want more than one?

I've been collecting new and vintage Hermès bags for over 20 years… they simply never go out of style!

Do you ever try on old dresses just for fun? Can you still fit in things from the '90s?

Yes, all the time! I am crazy about vintage couture and love the craftsmanship and attention to detail. Luckily I still fit into most of my dresses, but even if I don't, I still keep the special pieces in my collection.

What piece do you wear the most and why?

I have been wearing some of my signature Alaïa dresses and coats for more than 20 years. They make me feel like Stephanie!

Do your boys [Harry and Peter Brant Jr.] ever raid your closet and re-purpose things to wear out?

Yes, but now I've bolted the dressing room door! I had a special closet built above my dressing room. There is some hanging space, but it’s mostly drawers because you want to keep everything in either boxes, or in acid-free tissue. It’s all climate controlled, of course, and all of the drawers are glass and there’s space on each side for a picture so I can see what’s inside.

What's your daily and monthly skincare regimen like?

I LOVE skin care products! I try new things all the time but always have my go-to products. Right now I am really into my new Estée Lauder Re-Nutriv Ultimate Diamond Sculpting/Refinishing Dual Infusion and my Bliss under eye patches. I try to get in for facials as frequently as my schedule allows, but I also often do masks and peels at home… and a good seaweed bath is always a luxury before bed.
