With runway presentations from Coach, BCBG Max Azria and Creatures of the Wind, the first official day of New York Fashion Week got off to solid start, despite random bursts of snow flurries and dropping temperatures. As such, the crowd wore a lot of cozy (often fur) coats -- mostly in white and earthy tones, raising the question if the moment for brightly colored fur has passed. As expected, Mansur Gavriel bags and Stella McCartney flatforms were out in full force. There were also a fair amount of less than seasonably appropriate choices, such as sandals and bare legs.

Day one also featured one of the buzziest shows of the season -- Kanye West's Yeezy debut for Adidas, which assembled an unbeatable front row (Beyonce, Jay Z, Anna Wintour, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Diddy). It was mayhem outside the show as the stars quickly slipped into their SUVs, but a shot of Bieber in his red leather jacket might just be the best of the day. Let's hope he makes more appearances this week. Maybe at Hood by Air?
