It may only be March, but I'm already dreading the summer heat — it's tricky to find clothes that are light enough to survive a sweaty commute, but are still office-appropriate.
Thus I felt reasonably justified snapping up this cropped white button-down from one of my favorite young labels, Apiece Apart, a few weeks ago. The cut is what makes it special: It's cropped short in the front but is long in the back, has short, foldable sleeves and is more structured than your typical button-down. The shortened front creates just the right proportions for the midi skirts I wear most days. (Because not even unseasonable weather will keep me from wearing the newest thing in my closet, New York.)
Apiece Apart Cropped "Leandro" Button-Down Shirt, $250, available at J.Crew.
