I am technically on fiscal lockdown right now, but that doesn't mean that the reappearance of the sun and slightly warmer temps don't have me constantly window shopping for new clothes.
In an effort to shop smarter, I try to define exactly what feel I'm going for with my wardrobe at the start of each season — which I've dubbed the #aesthetic. It requires a complicated algorithm of runway obsessions, editorial inspiration, and lots and lots of "research" shopping. If this past fall was about a teen-witch-cutting-class feel, spring is about invoking a sea witch/washed up mermaid. (It makes sense to me; just go with it.)
I found this dress by Dagmar during my research, and it would totally fit the bill: It's loose and floaty, featuring a print that sort of looks like ocean waves. The black georgette trim and zipper detail give it a slight edge — I'd pair it with pointy black pumps for work, and black sandals for play.
Dagmar lilly printed dress, $450, available at Net-a-Porter.
