Denim skirts have had a bad rep for a few years. Remember when the micro Hollister style was everywhere circa 2005? Yeah, we are trying to forget too.

If you've been scared about reincorporating the denim skirt into your wardrobe, now is the time to get back into it. Not only is it a warm weather friendly alternative to jeans, but there are plenty of fresh styles out there that won't give you late aughts flashbacks. In the spirit of the trending decade — the '70s — opt for A-line silhouettes at midi and mini lengths. It's a sleek and streamlined cut that flatters the hips. For even shorter styles, try a skater circle skirt with a fuller shape. Just don't forget to wear some mini biker shorts underneath to avoid any Marilyn Monroe moments.
