Otis College of Art & Design, Fashion Design Department, is seeking a part-time Digital Fashion Design instructor for beginning to advanced level instruction. Ideal candidate will have professional experience in the Fashion Industry and teaching experience. This position reports directly to the Department Chair. Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

• Teaching responsibilities and the mentoring of those students in assigned classes.
• Monitoring attendance, documentation of student learning, and reporting of grades.
• Regular monitoring of classroom studios and participation in classroom set-up.
• Attendance at faculty meetings and adherence to program assessment.
• Must also work creatively and effectively with a diverse student body as part of a team of professional artist/educators.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Industry experience and BFA required.
• 2+ years teaching experience in Fashion industry related classes preferred.
• An understanding of moderate to high fashion sportswear, dresses, evening wear, and activewear fabrics and their construction is essential.
• Must demonstrate an extensive knowledge and ability to teach Digital Fashion Design: interpreting fashion illustrations into digital drawings, putting prints into repeat, creating digital flats and tech packs.
• Must be an expert in Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Strong aptitude for drawing accurate flats is a must.
• Staying current on fashion, digital trends, and industry practices is essential.
