...without looking like a caked-up corpse.

Beauty tutorials are big on YouTube — a search for “makeup tutorial” and “hair tutorial” yields more than 5 million videos. In this weekly series, we put a mix of popular and under-the-radar tutorials to the test and show you what’s best.

Nothing sours a perfect day at the park, the beach, or on the slopes like accidentally getting a bad sunburn. Not only is it painful, but it's also just plain unsightly.

Obviously, you should be wearing enough sunscreen to prevent this kind of thing from happening in the first place. Though, as everyone knows, accidents sometimes happen.

But that doesn't mean you have to walk around looking all red-in-the-face. As the temperatures heat up in New York, I decided to look up the best way to hide a sunburn using makeup.

Lo and behold, I found this tutorial from YouTuber BlueDressedBeauty, explaining exactly how to cover up a bad sunburn using makeup, without looking cakey or hurting your skin even more. The steps are super simple and easy to follow, and most of the products she uses are available at the drugstore. And if you're looking at the video's opening shot and are thinking, "Wait, this girl doesn't even have a sunburn — why would I take advice from her?" ...it's because she's already worked her magic.

Watch and learn, above. (And happy outdoors season!)
