Since exiting One Direction in March, Zayn Malik has been keeping himself occupied with the help of leaked songs, Twitter spars and one particularly buzzy (or tragic, depending on whom you ask) haircut. While his former bandmates have spent the last three months country-hopping on tour, Malik's been left to resuscitate his image.

This week at least, Malik seems to following the Justin Bieber Comeback Strategy, aligning himself with fashion brands in the hopes that people will talk about it in a favorable way. So far, it's working.

Malik sat front row at Valentino's men's show in Paris Wednesday and at Louis Vuitton's on Thursday. He was in especially good company at the latter, squatting next to Kanye West, Joe Jonas and the Oklahoma City Thunder's Russell Westbrook. Malik dressed the part of a budding menswear darling, too, in a lush, silk button-down and crisp white sneakers. But it was his sunglasses that took the cake, the marble frames coordinating just-so with the steely blue in his jacket.

All this, of course, doesn’t mean I don’t miss his grade-A man bun terribly.

This is all very Derek Zoolander. I don't hate it. Photo: Bertrand Rindoff Petroff/Getty Images
