Following a long period of stability, there's been a shakeup at the top of the CFDA's executive ladder. After nearly 10 years as the organization's president, Diane von Furstenberg's title has been changed to chairman. Steven Kolb, the CFDA's CEO since 2011, will take on the dual title of CEO and president.

The shuffle, first reported by WWD, was the result of a vote by the CFDA, which, periodically since 2006, has voted to extend von Furstenberg's term as president — until now.

A rep for the CFDA tells Fashionista that neither von Furstenberg's nor Kolb's roles will change significantly, but rather that their new titles simply better reflect what each of them was already doing: Kolb managing the day-to-day obligations of the company, and von Furstenberg heading up the board of directors.
