While on a press trip this week to Nashville, I visited a delightfully cool home decor and jewelry store called Wilder in Germantown that is currently hosting a pop-up shop curated by Elise Joseph, a stylist/consultant known for her blog "Pennyweight."
Joseph's corner of the store was chock-full of good finds and brands I'd never seen before, but there was nothing I wanted more than a quirky hat hanging from the wall. I'm not one for wearing straw hats — I either feel like an old lady or a child — but this style is the perfect blend of classic and silly. The shape is simple and it's covered with hand-sculpted porcelain beads in slightly different formations. But it's not overloaded in a kitschy way — it's just sparse enough to be distinctive and fresh. Perfect for sunny days in both the country and the city.
Jujumade polka dot sun hat, $265, available at Jujumade.com.
Disclosure: Nashville paid for my travel and accommodation to visit the city's local designers and boutiques.
