Frayed white denim is, to me, the visual-tactile equivalent of catnip. On more than one occasion, I've debated spending way too much on a jean jacket or pair of shorts featuring this sort of artful combination. I'm chronically delighted by the contrast between the denim's toughness and the plushy fraying, made super subtle by the clean white monochrome.
I know, you're all like, cool it, Eliza. We'll give you some time alone with the denim. It's fine. I just want to say that I found a really kickass jacket of this make by New York fashion's resident chill queen Rachel Comey. Check it out: boxy shape, slightly short sleeves and some massive pockets at the ribcage in case you feel like chicken winging it. (Buttoned all the way up is clearly the correct styling choice.) It's a lot of money for a jacket, but golly, is it good.
Rachel Comey Dirty White Parade Jacket, $408, available at Totokaelo.
