Since teaming up with stylist Tara Swennen on her post-"Twilight" era aesthetic, Kristen Stewart's well-tailored and tomboyish looks have been particularly inspiring to the Fashionista staff. The casual outfit the actress chose while out and about in New York on Sunday is no exception, and truth be told, I will likely find a way to copy it before the summer is through.

Swennen took to her Instagram page to reveal Stewart's fashion credits: a boxy Jonathan Simkhai collared shirt, some long L'Agence shorts that are cut just above the knee and, the pièce de résistance, a pair of Chanel loafers that appear to have a branded blue accent at the toe.

Thanks to the cropped silhouette that allows for just the right amount of midriff to show, the look still has a decidedly feminine appeal, and while the fitted shorts are an easy choice for an off-duty day, they'd work just as well for the office. We like how Stewart put a modern spin on such a classic ensemble — a button-down and black trousers — and she proves that with a few tweaks on traditional shapes and wardrobe basics, the boy-meets-girl look is anything but boring.
