Some souls, the Jeremy Scotts of the world, gravitate toward loud prints and bright colors to stand out. I've dabbled, and I don't. For me, sartorial noise happens in weird, mostly oversized shapes and muted tones: the jumpsuit that bags intentionally at the butt, so unappealing that it never fails to make me giggle, or the boxy men's jacket that falls mid-thigh.
In that vein, I am deeply enamored with this shirt, which plays at being understated but is a secret showstopper. The deep V-neck is sexy, but only in an intellectual way. With its structured shape that hovers around the arms and midsection, this is the thinking woman's going-out top. Wear it to bake scones, out to a wine bar or to an underground punk concert.
