There aren't many women who can pull off a highly dramatic cape gown, so when Kim Kardashian stopped by the InStyle Awards on Monday in the aforementioned item, we obviously took notice. But perhaps not for the best reason: Kardashian's white Valentino dress immediately brought to mind a similar Tom Ford dress that Gwyneth Paltrow famously wore to the 84th Academy Awards back in 2012. (Minus one baby bump, of course.)

While the gowns weren't completely identical, we couldn't help but wonder if the reality star was inspired by the actress... but we digress. There were plenty of other well-dressed celebrities in attendance at the event, including Paltrow, who wore a plunging, black velvet Schiaparelli dress to accept the Style Icon Award from her friend Kate Hudson. Louis Vuitton's Nicolas Ghesquière accepted the award for "Designer of the Year," and unsurprisingly, there were plenty of celebrities wearing his designs, including Selena Gomez, who went for a slightly edgier look than usual in a black mesh top and white flouncy skirt. But truly, the award for best everything goes to stylish mother/daughter duo Lisa Bonet and Zoe Kravitz. Honestly, could they have complemented each other any better?

Take a look at what all the stars wore to the InStyle Awards in the gallery below.
