Although we're told shopping preferences are shifting to online, 2015 has seen quite a few significant brick-and-mortar store openings in downtown New York, from the burgeoning lower Soho area (it's all about Broome and below these days), all the way down to the One World Trade-adjacent Brookfield Place mall, which has everything from J.Crew to Gucci to a soon-to-open Saks.
Basically, it feels like we've checked out a lot of new stores lately (because it's our job, obviously!) — many of which we can't wait to return to. They all offer a little something special beyond just good product. Click through the gallery below for our list, and if you haven't visited these stores yet, we suggest you do so ASAP. Also, honorable mentions go to Acne's new west village outpost and The Laundress.
