Help me, help you.
All of these things could potentially fit in a Christmas stocking.

All of these things could potentially fit in a Christmas stocking.

Despite my best efforts to shop smart this year — setting up sales alerts, combining gift cards — a few key items have eluded me due to price point and still plague my dreams, which is how I know I wouldn't regret the purchase. On a few occasions, I've run into the Les Petits Joueurs bucket bag on the arm of a chic person on the street, and at this point, ads filled with Tanya Taylor dresses are following me around the Internet. It's a sign, right? Right?

Not that big-ticket items are the only gifts I'd be excited to receive this season. Shampoo and conditioner are daily essentials that make all the difference when they are of high quality, but it's hard to personally justify buying anything not sold at Duane Reade. That's where you come in, dear readers, who I hope are my parents. See how easy I've made this?

1-2. Tanya Taylor sleeveless patent-coated sheath dress, $695, available at Neiman MarcusPenelope cropped ink spot top, $395, available at Neiman MarcusThis is my favorite look from Tanya Taylor's fall collection, and while the dress is much shorter than her usual flowy offerings, it's very flattering and cool. I'd wear it with chunky ankle boots and a big smile because I really, really want it.

3. Loeffler Randall foam leather moto jacket, now $766.50, available at Loeffler Randall: This is the soft lavendar leather jacket of my dreams. (Literally, I have been dreaming about it.) Since all I plan to wear this winter are black turtlenecks, I need a jacket that will bring some color into the mix.

4. Les Petits Joueurs Daliah fur pom-pom bucket bag, $975, available at Bergdorf Goodman: I have resisted the bucket bag trend completely, but I might not be able to control myself when it comes to this cute little festive one. I have been eyeing it for months — and petting it subtly at Bergdorfs — and am interested in taking our relationship to the next level.

5. Loewe Meccano pin, $195, available at Loewe: Loewe has a line of accessibly priced jumbo pins in different colors and metals that dress up any peacoat or handbag. I love this rose gold one because it's sophisticated but childlike in a really fantastic way.

6. Alterna Haircare caviar antiaging replenishing moisture shampoo, $32, available at SephoraI received this shampoo, conditioner and leave-in conditioner line as samples from Sephora and my hair has never been so shiny, which is important now that I've dyed it almost black. Honestly, it's so shiny it's borderline blinding. It feels like a secret power (and also makes my growing roots much less noticeable).
