TITLE: Junior Designer
LOCATION: Journelle Headquarters, New York City
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience

Journelle is a multi-channel lingerie retailer, bringing a fresh approach to the category through fashion-forward merchandise selection, sophisticated store design and exceptional customer care. Founded in 2007, the company currently operates three retail stores and a rapidly-growing online business dedicated to helping women love and wear beautiful lingerie everyday. Six additional stores are slated for the next eighteen months.

JUNIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Journelle is seeking a full-time Junior Designer to join its team of lingerie lovers. The Junior Designer will report directly to the Senior Designer and will be a core part of a motivated marketing and design team, focused on creating print and web collateral. We are looking for a talented individual who can maintain the brand across all mediums, design and manage online visuals and manage in-store signage for all locations. The ideal candidate is self-driven, able to work independently and will be responsible in the creative process from concept to final implementation.

ROLE SUMMARY

  • Design and manage in-store printed collateral, promotional materials and signage
  • Schedule and maintain recurring web content refreshes — including Get inspired page, Headers and Footers and Navigation
  • Schedule and maintain Upper East Side lightboxes
  • Design, test and track performance analytics for emails — including promotions, post purchase, shopping cart abandonment, Welcome, Birthday and “Nice to Meet You” emails
  • Design digital advertising — including web banners and dynamic ads
  • Maintain press clips
  • Design digital visual merchandising assets
  • Update visuals for social media outlets — including but not limited to Facebook, Journelle’s Blog, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram
  • Maintain vendor product photo re-coloring and cropping
  • Assist in installation of window displays
  • Assist in basic UI/UX wire framing
  • Manage and maintain relationship with vendor for installation of lightboxes and vinyls
  • Maintain look and feel of brand across all platforms
  • Contributor to new ideas and brand developments

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent in graphic design
  • 2+ years experience in graphic design

SKILL SET

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Basic knowledge of web and interface design and usability
  • Expert understanding of layout
  • Expert understanding of typography
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to understand and apply branding guidelines
  • Ability to switch gears quickly and be flexible in projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be able to take performance direction
  • Strong communication and time-management skills
  • Must contribute to new and creative ideas
  • Basic understanding of creative analytics
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus
  • Experience in content creation, social media, and marketing projects is a plus
