Believe it or not, the above image is not a stock photo that comes up when you plug "Brunette Woman in Green Dress Laughing Jovially With Co-Workers at Office Costume Party" into a search engine. Instead, it's a picture of Kate Middleton — Duchess of Cambridge, but also Brunette Woman in Green Dress — showing off a new, shorter haircut at a charity event in London. Her precious locks, they're gone! (Or at least a couple a' inches are, anyway.)
On Wednesday, the Duchess arrived at the ICAP Charity Day, which she attended with Prince William, wearing an emerald L.K. Bennett dress with peplums that she's worn at least once before, to the Royal Australian Airforce Base. Could one classify this chopped style — an extended lob, per se — as a Mom Haircut? She seems to have traded in her signature, bouncy mop for something a bit for manageable, which, in its very essence, is the definition of a Mom Haircut. But before you berate her for Animorphing into Kate Gosselin, please consider that she's now the busy mother of two children, both under the age of three. If this haircut allows for the Duchess to shave off five minutes from her daily blowout, that's five minutes well spent.
Let's take a closer look at the cut in question.
One more time for the cheap seats in the back.
