My personal style can definitely be described as no-fuss, and while I appreciate the street style star-types who can pull together a look every day of the week, I'd much rather grab a cozy sweater, my favorite pair of jeans, some ankle boots and call it a day. The problem with this, however, is that most of my denim looks the same at this point. I own a mid-rise, skinny pair in every imaginable wash — and multiple in both black and white — but because I'm lacking in the height department, experimenting with more relaxed, high-waisted or cropped pairs has always made me a little nervous.
Recently, I decided to face my fears and I picked up some vintage, bleached-out Levi's "mom jeans," and I was surprised how many compliments I received. Perhaps I should step out of my denim comfort zone more often! So, when I came across this cropped, fringed style by 3x1 in a pretty light wash, I immediately thought it'd be a great way to liven up my collection. The straight leg is much more laid-back than my usual skinnies, and they're cropped just above the ankle, making them easy to wear year-round with all sorts of footwear. And, needless to say, the undone hems instantly upgrade them from basic denim to a subtle statement piece.
