Resort is a season that moves further away from a clear definition with every passing year. Sexy swimwear one day, a cozy fur coat the next. Sometimes together! At this point, "anything goes" is the reigning theme, which suggests that, come late fall/early winter, consumers will be able to find just about anything.

What they may be seeing a lot less of, however, is athleisure — a trend that has had massive popularity for the past few cycles. Meanwhile, trends like bomber jackets, slip dresses, cold shoulders and wide-leg pants are still going strong.

If you're interested in the newest trends for resort 2017, many of which could spill over into the spring 2016 shows, just scroll through. We've got you covered.

Florals were big, but graphic interpretations were the biggest hit for resort. Think less chintz and more flower power.

BUCKLE DOWN

Need an accessory? Try buckling down (twice, in Sonia Rykiel's case).

BOMB'S AWAY

While it certainly isn't a new trend, we couldn't go without name-checking the bomber. Embellished versions have been going strong for a few seasons, and at this point every designer and their sister (label) are offering their own version.

ARMY SURPLUS

The traditional army jacket gets the bomber treatment this season with embroidery, sequins and prints.

FLARES

The '70s is the decade that keeps on giving. Try widening your stance with flares.

Another '70s runoff in the form of a different type of flare.

PALE PINK

This quintessentially feminine color is everywhere for resort, from head to toe.

Resort's logos are worn with pride with one clear statement displayed on the front of a T-shirt or sweater.

Feeling patriotic? Try this color combination.

STRIPED PANTS

The oldest trick in the book to lengthen your silhouette. The bolder the stripe, the better.

TIER-SHAPED

Try to resist a twirl in a tiered dress for resort. We dare you.
