It's late November, which means fall is breathing its last breaths, winter is coming and it won't be long before it snows.
While there are plenty of pleasant things cold weather brings along with it (hot cocoa, the holiday season, cozy sweaters), chapped hands don't fall into that category. Obsessive hand-washing paired with dry air usually leads to this inevitable winter skin malady — but it doesn't have to. That's where C.O. Bigelow's Chapped Hands Remedy comes in. It contains a 40 percent concentration of glycerin (which draws water into the skin), along with olive oil, jojoba and royal jelly, all of which are super-effective for hydrating and soothing dry skin. The formula is appropriately rich and balm-like, meaning it feels a bit heavy and greasy going on — but after a few minutes, it absorbs, leaving hands feeling quenched and soft, but not slippery. (Still, if you're especially worried about greasiness, maybe save this hand cream for nighttime use before bed.)
I'll be slathering it on obsessively all winter long in hopes of avoiding dreaded chapped winter hand and cuticles altogether this year.
